Uploading logs to eQSL and ClubLog

2020/04/11

Currently, I am working on collecting and sorting logs of all QSOs I have ever made and on uploading them to eQSL and Clublog.

Then I got able to receive eQSLs you sent before. Thank you very much! However, it will take a lot of time to sort and upload my logs and so confirming your eQSL will also be delayed. Sorry in advance, but please be patient.

Youngsters Science Festival of Tokyo

Sep 24, 2018

JH1YDT(Waseda Univ.), where I belong, was attended to "Youngsters Science Festival" held at Tokyo Gakugei Univ (Koganei-city, Tokyo) as members of JARL Tokyo Branch. Thanks for coming.

At our exibition, we had visitors build 3-ele Yagi antenna for TV broadcast. The recipe, provided by JARL Tokyo Team, is quite easy and well-simplized for children. It is made from just several pieces of aluminium foil and cardboard, and it needs no soldering.

After building they connected it to a TV prepared by the team, and they could study how their antennas work.

They could bring back their own antennas to experiment at home as well.

Totally this was a nice program, I think. When we think of ham radio program, it does not matter whether that is related directly with ham radio itself.

All Japan High School ARDF Competition

Jul. 30, 2018

I participated in All Japan High School ARDF Competition in Agano-city, Nigata-pref., as a "elder" player (M21, I mean I'm not highschool student). This was my first participation in ARDF competitions and so this was really meaningful time for me rather than whether the result was good or not. It was also valuable that I could make conversation with high school students and could touch with their idea.

"Your Teenage Time on the Air! " begins

Jan. 19, 2018

YOTA Japan start to provide articles which introducing ham clubs at senior / junior high schools in Japan. Through the visits and interviews we can understand their opinions and ideas against hamradio.

“Listen to Youngsters!” is one of the most important and basic concepts of (original) YOTA. That’s really crucial for us as well. Then we decided to begin our work with “listening to youngsters.”

Fortunately, lots of school ham clubs are active in Japan. Plus, more luckily, CQ Hamradio (by CQ Pub.), the most famous ham magazine in Japan, is interested to us and offered collaboration.

Some pictures are available in JH1YDT's twitter(@JH1YDT).

English Version

Sep. 07, 2017

Finally, the English version has come!

You can read most parts of my websites in English (essays and technical articles have not been translated yet).

My English is so poor and immature that I suppose a lot of grammatical mistakes could be found. In addition, I will possibly take a lot of time to find and fix these errors by myself because of my carelessness (how careless am I? I could not found a mistake of "Right or Left" in my article (in Japanese) for one year!). Please pointed out these mistakes you've found, if you don't mind.

YOTA UK 2017

Aug. 12, 2017

I was in Gilwell Park, London, to participate YOTA(Youngsters on the Air) Summer Camp!!

YOTA is a big and novel project for young hams, organized by youngsters as well. It has been really successful in Europe. Fortunately, I was chosen one of the members sent to YOTA UK 2017 by JARL(Japan Amaetur Radio League). This was the first time for countries belonging to IARU Reg.1 (Asia & Oceania) to participate to YOTA summer camp.

We have been working to discover the solution how to encourage young hams and to increase the number of them in Japan. The concept of YOTA which we found in the camp are expected to be a "winning hit" for the problem.

Youngsters Science Festival of Japan

Jul. 29, 2017

JH1YDT(Waseda Univ.), where I belong, was attended to "Youngsters Science Festival" held at Science Museum (Chiyoda-ward, Tokyo) as members of JARL Tokyo Branch.

JARL Tokyo Branch has participated to events of science targeting to youths since a couples years ago, and has made its original exhibition of experiments whose themes are "nature of Yagi antenna", "reflection and transparency of radio waves" and "polarization of waves". This event was a part of the activity.

It was during summer vacation period for teenagers so there were a lot of children and their parents and they were interested in our lectures and experiments. I am very happy if it was a meaningful time for them. Many thanks for coming our booth!
